Meet your guide in front of the Art Centre Santa Monica on the bottom of the Ramblas (Drassanes Metro Station) before setting off on a Barcelona food tour like no other.
Get away from the touristic spots and head into local neighborhoods like the once notorious “no-go-area” Raval, which now features a unique blend of ambitious new architectural projects combined with traditional, multi-ethnic life of the barrio. Just a stone’s throw away, you will enjoy the first tapas experience of the night at a cozy little wine cellar. The tapas on offer will vary based on the fresh, daily changing menu, so what you get will be always a surprise.
Not too much further, the next tapas bar awaits you as you navigate through a labyrinth of small streets that still retain their classic ambience. In contrast to the previous tapas bar, this one has a more modern approach to its cuisine. For example you can try the eggplant with honey and cinnamon, a truly contemporary and delicious dish. Head to a few more tapas joints around Las Ramblas and enjoy the night.
Throughout the tour, as you delight in the discovery of new tastes, flavors, and dishes, your guide will introduce you to local gastronomic specialties, anecdotes of the city’s history, and local neighborhood life. At some point during the tour, you will likely meet some of the local characters in the barrio and perhaps even get drawn into a conversation or 2. You never know what the night has in store!
