Yapımı 1625 yılına uzanan kilise İzmir’in en eski kilisesidir, yapımı Fransa Kralı XII. Louis’in isteği ve Sultan Süleyman’ın izniyle gerçekleşen kilise Kapusin rahiplerine verilmiştir.
